On the first day of the cultural project «HALYK AUENI», implemented on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan with sponsorship from Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, the concert programmes attracted an audience of around 6,000 people. As part of a concert and tour across various regions of the country, artists performed for residents and presented the finest examples of national and contemporary art.

On 21 May, a date coinciding with the professional holiday of cultural and artistic workers, leading creative ensembles under the Ministry’s jurisdiction successfully held the first concert programmes in Abai, Akmola, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Zhetysu, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Mangistau, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, North Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Turkestan, Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions.

As part of the project, audiences were introduced to folk songs, traditional music, contemporary pop songs, dance performances, musicals and instrumental compositions, which provided the public with bright emotions and a special atmosphere. Residents of the regions warmly welcomed the creative groups, and the concert programmes were of a high standard.

The «HALYK AUENI» project aims to populate the national spiritual heritage, widely promote folk musical culture and increase access to cultural treasures for residents of the regions. The concerts were of particular interest to residents of district centres and rural settlements.

The concert and tour as part of the project will continue until 23 May and will keep visiting regions across Kazakhstan.
