The “Birlik” Ensemble Presented Kazakh Culture at EXPO 2025 in Japan

The “Birlik” Dance Ensemble became a vivid representative of Kazakh culture on the world stage by taking part in one of the most prestigious international events — EXPO 2025 in Japan.
The official ceremony of the National Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the National Day Hall – Ray Garden, where the “Birlik” ensemble presented vibrant choreographic performances filled with the spirit of nomadic culture. Continuing the festive events, the artists also performed on the stage of the Swissotel Nankai Osaka ballroom, becoming one of the highlights of the gala concert.
This large-scale event brought together thousands of guests and participants from around the world, becoming a unique platform for cultural exchange. The “Birlik” ensemble made a significant contribution to strengthening international mutual understanding and promoting Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage.
The performance program included the choreographic productions “Koktem Lebi”, “Salkuren”, “Akku”, “Kuy Shashu” (choreographed by Z. Azhibekov), and “Kuanysh Bii”. Each composition reflected the beauty of Kazakh dance art, combining expressive plastic imagery, elements of folk folklore, and national musical traditions. The performance gained a distinctive national atmosphere through the accompaniment of traditional instruments such as the dombra and kobyz, which filled the concert with authentic cultural energy.
