The large-scale cultural event is aimed at widely promoting the legacy of the legendary singer Roza Baglanova, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan and the USSR, recipient of the title Halyk Kaharmany, as well as at revitalizing the finest traditions and achievements of national and world culture and supporting young vocalists.

The competition is organized by the State Academic Concert Organization Qazaqconcert named by Roza Baglanova with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The Competition consists of two stages:

1. Stage I (Selection Round) – held online from April 8 to April 17
2. Stage II – held offline on May 13
3. Winners and Diploma Holders Award Ceremony and Gala Concert – May 14

 

 

Applications for participation in the Competition will be accepted from February 23 to April 8. If the participant limit is exceeded, Qazaqconcert reserves the right to suspend the acceptance of applications before the deadline or to extend the application period.

 

Vocalists of the pop genre aged 18 to 35 may participate in the Competition, including participants of national and international competitions, TV vocal contests, as well as students of higher educational institutions in the field of culture and arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and both near and far abroad.

 

To participate in the Competition, applicants must submit an electronic application in accordance with Appendix 1 of these Regulations, attaching the following documents and materials (hereinafter referred to as the document package):

• A scanned copy of an identity document or passport (PDF format);
• A creative biography (CV);
• A color photograph of the Competition participant (13×18 cm, JPEG format);
• A scanned copy of the education diploma;
• Scanned copies of laureate diplomas (if available);
• A scanned copy of a certificate from the educational institution (for students);
• Phonograms on USB (flash drive);
• A high-quality video performance of songs from Roza Baglanova’s repertoire (album format, MP4 or MOV).

Applications that do not comply with the required format specified in this section and/or are submitted without the complete set of documents will not be considered.

 

 

The following cash prizes are established for the Competition nominations:

1. Grand Prix – 2,000,000 tenge (excluding individual income tax);
2. 1st Prize – 1,500,000 tenge (excluding individual income tax);
3. 2nd Prize – 1,000,000 tenge (excluding individual income tax);
4. 3rd Prize – 500,000 tenge (excluding individual income tax).

The prize money will be transferred to the personal bank accounts of the Competition laureates.
The Jury Protocol serves as the basis for transferring the monetary awards.
Incentives from legal entities and individuals acting as sponsors, who independently determine the winners in their respective nominations, are permitted.

During Stage I (Selection Round), participants perform one (1) song from Roza Baglanova’s repertoire in accordance with Appendix 2 and one (1) popular world hit.

During Stage II, participants perform one (1) song from Roza Baglanova’s repertoire in accordance with Appendix 2 and one (1) song of any musical genre reflecting the cultural values and traditions of the participant’s country. At the Gala Concert, participants perform one (1) song from Roza Baglanova’s repertoire (in accordance with Appendix 2) that was performed during Stage II.

In the Competition, each song for Stages I (Selection) and II is performed once only

 

Grand Prix and 1st Prize laureates of the previous Competition are not eligible to participate again.

Participants who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan must independently arrange visas, insurance, and consular fees in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on an official invitation from Qazaqconcert.

Accommodation, meals, and internal transfers will be provided at the expense of Qazaqconcert. Travel expenses to and from the city of Astana shall be covered by the participants.

Air and railway tickets to Astana may be purchased only after prior coordination with Qazaqconcert.
