A concert by the “BIRLIK” ensemble dedicated to the artistic legacy of dancer Shara Zhienkulova was held

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a special concert took place at the State Academic Concert Organization “Kazakhconcert” named after Rosa Baglanova, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan and International Dance Day. The evening titled “BIRLIK – UNITY” was devoted to the artistic legacy of Shara Zhienkulova, the first professional Kazakh dancer and a legendary cultural figure, reports MadeniPortal.kz.
The concert featured choreographic performances reflecting the traditions and cultures of the world’s nations. The program included dances from Kazakh, Russian, Tajik, Uzbek, Turkmen, and other cultures. Special attention was given to ethnographic authenticity in choreography and costumes.
The event brought together the Naz State Dance Theatre, the Vainakh Ensemble, the Indian Cultural Center, the NurSaulemai Choreography School, as well as the Gulder Ensemble Ballet.
The “BIRLIK” ensemble is the first multinational artistic collective in Kazakhstan, uniting representatives of various ethnic groups and cultures. Its main goal is to promote the art and cultural heritage of different peoples. Since its establishment, the ensemble has actively participated in national and international projects.
The ensemble has performed in Turkmenistan, Armenia, Russia, China, Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Austria, and other countries, representing Kazakh culture on the international stage.
The artistic director of the ensemble is Anel Marabayeva.
