Today, at the Qazaqconcert Concert Hall, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra presented the concert “Tango Nuevo.”

The evening’s program brought together works from various musical traditions, ranging from Russian classical music to contemporary Latin American compositions and the expressive melodies of Argentine tango.

The concert opened with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. The audience also enjoyed Mi Barrio, an original composition for bassoon by contemporary Italian composer Fabrizio Gatta.

The evening’s soloist was renowned Italian bassoon virtuoso Antonio Cicero. The orchestra was conducted by Georgiy Kozhabekov, a laureate of national and international competitions.

At the conclusion of the concert, the audience rewarded the musicians with a standing ovation, warmly and enthusiastically applauding the performers as they left the stage.
