« Kazakh State Folk Ensemble “Astana Sazy”; – is one of the leading ensembles in Kazakhstan, specializing in the performance of traditional Kazakh music. The ensemble actively participates in the country’s cultural life and represents Kazakhstan’s national musical heritage on the international stage.

Repertoire and Instruments The ensemble’s repertoire includes traditional kyuis and folk songs, as well as contemporary arrangements. The musicians perform works by renowned composers such as Kurmangazy, Kazangap, Abai, and others. The performers play a wide range of traditional Kazakh instruments, including the dombra, kobyz, sherter, shankobyz, saz-syrnai, zhetygen, syrnai, and dauylpaz, as well as bass guitar and percussion instruments (both Eastern and Latin percussion). This allows the ensemble to perform music of various genres and expands its artistic capabilities.

Achievements and Projects • Presentation of the CD album “Zaman” (2022): The ensemble released an audio album featuring modern arrangements of traditional Kazakh melodies. • Solo concert in Astana (2024): The ensemble held a solo concert at the Central Concert Hall “QAZAQSTAN”, presenting a program of traditional Kazakh music.

Awards • 1st Prize at the International Competition named after G. Rossini (Pesaro, Italy, 2018); • 1st Prize at the International Festival “Zhubanovtardyn Әueni” (Aktobe, Kazakhstan, 2019); • 1st Prize at the II Republican Folk Ensemble Competition “Köne Taraz Kümbiri” (Taraz, Kazakhstan, 2021).
